Last week, we learned that the Middlebury College Activities Board was unable to secure a band for their annual Spring Show on May 7. As you might imagine, this news greatly concerned those of us who planned the Battle of the Bands and especially Split Tongue Crow, the winner of our competition who was set to perform as the opening act.
MCAB will be presenting a concert on May 7, but the show will feature DJs. While we love music in all its forms, we, in consultation with Split Tongue Crow and MCAB, felt that this would not be a good fit for the band.
Over the past several days, we have worked closely with Middlebury College to develop an alternative plan. Split Tongue Crow has been invited to open for a headlining performer sometime next fall. For Split Tongue Crow, this means delaying their well-earned prize, but all parties involved feel good about this plan moving forward, even though it is not what we originally intended. We would like to thank the many Middlebury College administrators who have worked hard over the last few days to create a tenable solution.
We would like to extend our gratitude to Split Tongue Crow for their patience and grace as we have tried to resolve this situation. We would also like to apologize to them for the disappointment this news has brought. We very much appreciated their contribution in creating an event that our community members enjoyed.
